Job description

• The person will be responsible for conducting research on a variety of issues relating to internet governance and engagement with specific institutions and processes like ICANN, IGF, APTLD etc.
• Ability to study, analyze and write impact assessment reports or briefing documents on developments in the global internet governance space, including Internet technology standards and processes, policy development processes etc.
• Identify issues to research and analyze, interpret and review existing national and international Internet Governance related policies.
• Evaluate policy options by taking views from the community and make recommendations towards policy development.
• Prepare research material, write white papers, response papers, speeches, talking points,
• research reports, and draft-mails amongst other correspondences for NIXI.
• Plan, organize and execute capacity building sessions, training programs and events for and with stakeholder communities.

Expected Skills and knowledge

• Knowledge of technical, political/geo-political, economic, legal, socio-cultural aspects of Internet Governance.
• An understanding of the institutions and processes of Internet governance at both national and international level.
• An understanding of key government policies, laws, and regulations and how these are developed.
• Person must have excellent research and writing skills including the ability to complete lengthy report(s).
• Knowledge of research methods.
• Graduate degree in public policy, law, or other related field relevant to policy research.
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed candidates interested in contributing and learning on internet governance issues are encouraged to apply.

Work Experience

02 – 10 years professional experience in public policy with preferred experience in technology and / or global governance.
